The Place 2/17
02-17-2008 @ 07:25:20:PM
Where am I ,well I'm right here at the "Place." Where is the place, well it's also right here, it is, whereever is is, get it? Too many investors think that all the brains are located in the Major Financial centers ie, New York. London ,or Hong Kong. Au contrair, thanks to the new "Flat World" thesis anyone anywhere can get complete on time financial information. Wall Streets Monoply if there is such, is on schemes dreams and stupidity. My simple one man operation is actually quite sophisticated thanks to the internet two Satelite Dish's, and multiple charting browsers. Thanks to three DVR recorders there really isn't much that I miss. Many years ago I took over an account his name was Henry Jones he was a Machinist by trade and he worked at our towns Union Carbide facility. He didn't look like much, just a little soft spoken man. A machinist, not a Rocket Scientist yet he could time the stock market better than anyone I knew. Over time we became good friends and I came to realize that he all his own work, probably posted over 20 charts by hand each day. I handled his account until his death. He was best stock market timer I knew. He trained me in his ways and I probably learned more from him than anyone. Stock Traders are a strange very superstitious lot we usually only give up worthless information to outsiders, the really good shit, well we don't share that at all. I bought some more stock friday, it's really almost laughable how todays bears were yesterdays bulls. Remember the joke about when "Man bites Dog", well anyone who knows me will tell you that usually I'm Bearish by nature thats why my current bullish juxtaposition is quite noteworthy.
Riding that Train 2/11

They say," it's not the Train you see that kills you." Bought my last stock at the opening today, I figured in for a penney, in for a pound. We'll see!

Yesterday wanted to complete my 1/3 buys but I was afraid to front run the CSCO earnings because of John Chambers highly unpredictable mouth, I thought there was a good chance he might just queer the tech rally. Last night I was further frustrated in that the NYSE web site didn't fully come up, so sans data I decided to wait yet another day. The biggest sin in my book is forcing a trade. Discipline is what you do when nobody's watching so no data no trade. This morning I was completely bummed out so after I let the Staff back in (my 5 dogs) I started getting ready to go. I turned the TV on and lo and behold Jim Cramer was the guest host on Squawk Box for three hours. How do you trust a guy who looks like Lenin? When he was thru I'm sure there must have been traders jumping out of windows in New York. The news on CSCO was disappointing and Jim had whipped everyone into a panic so realizing this was clearly a sign I put in limits under the market, got eyeryone filled by lunch.
So Far So Good 2/5

So far so good, man I sure hope that parachute works. This afternoon at 3:30 the Dow was down 340 points I started catching the falling knives. I took 2/3 positions in seven stocks. If the market get nutted in the AM I'll finish the program then. Somebody has to go first I guess it's my turn. So much for Fat Tuesday.
The Man in Dark Glasses
02-03-2008 @ 08:54:55:PM
The dow is up 1200 since the interday lows of 1/23, took some profits friday at the close.- Are you twisted brother, are you confused let me tell you a story that may help explain some issues. Somewhere sits a Man in Dark glasses, in a room with no windows it is he who is responsible for the Four Horsemen, and all the many cycles in this Universe. Further it is he who decides when good news is good and when good news is actually bad. Timing has nothing to do with price. It is the order and arrangement of things that determine timing. The Stockmarket is not subject to reason thats why many Traders have gone mad trying to understand why. There is no why. The proper question is not why but what, what must I do? -- The problem with timing is if your'e lucky enough to get tapped on your shoulder by The Man, don't question the gift. Take one signal take them all don't try to pick and choose, your choice will always be the worst one. Three weeks ago I was short, last week I was long, and next week I'm not sure what I'll do, but when we get there I'll let you know. Alfred E. Neuman said it best "what me worry?"
